Senior Civil/Land Development Engineer and Quality Assurance Officer

Our civil design team works within a professional setting alongside landscape architects, land surveyors, and land use planners to provide a variety of technical services related to land development. This position will include design management and quality assurance reviews for project submittal completeness and accuracy.

Position Functions & Qualifications:

  • Review and stamp civil construction documents

  • Develop specification manuals

  • Manage and review work for a team of 3-6 civil designers and project engineers

  • Interact with professionals from other departments to advance complex projects

  • Senior Technical and Quality Assurance role with limited client interaction and interface

Project Types Anticipated:

  • Subdivision design ranging from short plats to planned residential communities of hundreds of units

  • Private commercial, industrial, and multifamily projects ranging from $1MM to $40MM

  • Water distribution, disposal, and storage design oversight

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering

  • At least 6 years of professional experience in civil engineering preferred

  • PE License required

  • Skilled in Civil3d design software

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to work independently, self-motivated with great attention to detail

Compensation and Benefit Package:

This position will provide compensation that is equal to or higher than industry standards for this role. Our benefit package includes health, dental, and vision insurance, paid holidays, sick leave, vacation pay, and a retirement plan. Senior Landscape Architect/ Urban Planner

For this position, Storhaug is looking for a talented and experienced Senior Landscape Architect and Urban Planner to join our dynamic team. In this leadership role, you will spearhead the design and implementation of creative, sustainable, and visually stunning landscape projects. Collaborating closely with clients, engineers, and urban planners, you’ll help shape vibrant outdoor spaces that enhance communities while prioritizing environmental stewardship.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and deliver innovative, client-focused landscape plans that meet project goals.

  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to seamlessly integrate landscape architecture with civil engineering, urban planning, and environmental considerations.

  • Conduct thorough site assessments, and site layout planning as the initial step for development of business parks, and subdivision layouts

  • Utilize advanced tools like AutoCAD Civil 3D and Land-FX to draft and model high-quality landscape designs.

  • Prepare construction documents, specifications, and cost estimates with precision and attention to detail.

  • Develop and oversee sustainable landscape maintenance plans for long-term success.

  • Mentor and guide junior staff, sharing your expertise in design techniques and project management.

  • Present design concepts and revisions to clients, ensuring their vision is brought to life.

  • Stay ahead of industry trends, materials, and technologies to deliver cutting-edge solutions.

What We’re Looking For

  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Landscape Architecture or a related field.

  • Experience: Proven track record in landscape design with a strong portfolio of completed projects.

  • Licensure: Professional licensure as a Landscape Architect is required.

  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD) and familiarity with LandFX.

  • Collaboration: Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with clients and multidisciplinary teams.

  • Independence: A self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

  • Attention to Detail: A strong commitment to quality, sustainability, and design excellence.

  • Knowledge: Familiarity with landscape maintenance practices is a plus.
